Early Life and Education of Deeplina Deka
Deeplina Deka grew up in Bamunimaidan, Guwahati, Assam. Her father, Babul Kumar Deka, worked at the Nagaon paper mill, and her mother, Padumi Deka, was a housewife.
After completing her primary education at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jagirod, Deeplina moved to her hometown Guwahati for her higher secondary studies at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Silpukhuri.
Deeplina pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering from Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT), Guwahati. During her college years, she actively participated in singing, dancing, and dramatics competitions.

Deeplina Deka excelled as a student from a young age, demonstrating her talents both in academics and sports. She had a particular talent for badminton and even secured fourth place in the National Level Badminton competition in 2007, representing Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jagirod in regional sports for three years.
After completing her engineering degree, Deeplina started working at Bharti Airtel and later at Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. But also she was working in the Music field part-time.
Beginning of Music Career
- She made her debut in the music industry with the release of her first music video, “Nuwari Nuwari,” on February 23, 2015. The song was a collaboration with singer Tarun Tanmoy and showcased Deeplina’s impressive vocal abilities.

- In 2017, Deeplina got an opportunity to audition for a part in a movie called “Mission China,” which was directed by Zubeen Garg. And luckily, she was selected for the role. As Deeplina was selected, she left her current profession (Telecom Job), so she could become a professional singer as well as an actress in the entertainment field.
Since then, she has continued to make a name for herself in the music and film industries with her multi-talented skills and dedication to her passion.
- Her biggest hit was “Sui Diyana“: Soon after the “Mission China” movie Deeplina Deka released a song called “Sui Diyana” exclusively on her YouTube channel in 2017. The song was highly praised by all of Deeplina’s fans and she became the ‘Crush of Assam‘, which further strengthened her career.
